Yuri Dojc began working on the Last Folio project after meeting a Holocaust survivor in 1997. Dojc began making portraits of Slovakia’s last living Holocaust survivors, then moved on to documenting abandoned synagogues, Jewish cemeteries, and other fragments of the country’s Jewish past.

New York City based photographer Maria Antonietta Mameli has been working on a project called Human Observations . Mameli photographs passerbys from the vantage point of the Manhattan Bridge in New York City. The figures are seen in scale from her perspective, and she completely removes the surroundings.
