Evading Police, Capturing a Spirit

Renowned portrait photographer Platon talks about evading the Burmese secret police to make a portrait of Aung San Suu Kyi. The photograph appeared on the cover of TIME January 10, 2011. An image from Platon’s portrait session with Aung San Suu Kyi was recently awarded First Place, Portrait, in the Pictures of the Year International competition.
